About the organisation

Citizens Advice Edinburgh is a charity. We provide free, confidential and independent advice on any subject and specialise in Housing, Immigration, Welfare/Benefits, Money/Debt, Employment, Consumer Rights and Health. We deliver the national Pensionwise and Patient Advice and Support Services.

How to Apply

About the vacancy

To provide advice to the general public from our bureau in Edinburgh one full day a week Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Shifts can be split AM and PM.

Key Responsibilities

To complete the Adviser Training Programme within 6 months, to provide one year commitment after completion. 35 hours CPD a year. Providing quality advice to our clients by effectively interviewing, researching, advising and recording accurate case notes.


We are open to considering flexible options including remote training and volunteering. As long as the time commitment is met the work can be carried out at any time during the week and weekends over the phone and email. 


Please also enquire about our other roles which include Triage and Client Support. 

Key Competencies

We provide full training on all our systems and advice topics, we support trainees to get practice and encourage you to apply whether or not you have experience of advising yet. Our friendly team is always at hand.
